Makers have officially confirmed that Rashmika Mandanna will essay the lead role in the eagerly awaited biopic of legendary Indian Carnatic singer MS Subbulakshmi.
Helmed by Kingdom fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, the project boasts music by star composer Anirudh Ravichander. The film’s grand official launch is scheduled for September 16, 2026, coinciding with the iconic icon’s 110th birth anniversary, with veteran actor Kamal Haasan attending as the chief guest.

MS Subbulakshmi, born on September 16, 1916, in Madurai, was a titan of classical music. Mentored by greats like Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer and Pandit Narayanrao Vyas, she made her public debut at age 11 in 1927 and later charmed audiences through memorable cinematic outings such as Sevasadanam and Meera before passing away on December 11, 2004.
