Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena has launched a new WhatsApp‑based grievance redressal system to make complaint handling more accessible and responsive for the public.
The Minister revealed that he has personally been receiving complaints via WhatsApp over the past week. A dedicated number — 6371912718 — has now been officially provided for citizens to submit grievances related to the Transport Department.
Jena announced that the department will issue a daily bulletin highlighting the number of complaints received and resolved. Additionally, a weekly grievance hearing will be conducted every Tuesday, during which officials will review complaints and provide responses directly to complainants.
“The initiative is aimed at strengthening transparency and ensuring that grievances are addressed promptly,” Jena said, adding that the system will help bridge communication between citizens and the Transport Department.
The move is expected to improve accountability and streamline the grievance redressal process across Odisha.
