Ahead of the much-awaited India vs South Africa T20 International at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has introduced dedicated ‘Ama Bus’ services to ensure smooth and convenient travel for spectators on December 9.

With a large turnout of cricket fans expected for the 7 pm match, the special services aim to ease traffic pressure and provide reliable connectivity from key points in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Special Match-Day Bus Corridors from Bhubaneswar

CRUT has announced two exclusive Ama Bus routes, operating every 20 minutes from 3:30 pm onward:

Route 1: Baramunda BSABT → Barabati Stadium

Via Jaydev Vihar Square → KIIT Square → Nandankanan → Judicial Academy → Sati Chaura Square (near stadium)

Route 2: Bhubaneswar Railway Station → Barabati Stadium

Via Vani Vihar Square → Rasulgarh Square → Nakhara Square → Link Road → CNBT → Judicial Academy → Stadium

  • Fare: ₹40 (Non-AC, one-way)

Dedicated Cuttack Shuttle Service

A separate AC shuttle will operate between Cuttack Railway Station and Barabati Stadium from 4:00 pm.

This loop will cover:
Sati Chaura Square → Judicial Academy → CNBT → OMP Square → Stadium

  • Fare: ₹20 per passenger

Regular Mo Bus Services Also Operational

CRUT confirmed that the regular Mo Bus network will continue alongside match-day special routes. Key services include:

  • Route 17: Biju Patnaik International Airport → Barabati Stadium

  • Route 16: Sri Sri University → Bhubaneswar Railway Station (via NH)

  • Route 10 & Route 15: Judicial Square, Cuttack → MANU University / Utkal Hospital

  • Route 81: Stadium → Salepur via Cuttack Railway Station

These routes are expected to complement the additional Ama Bus services, ensuring efficient movement across the region.

Security & Stadium Preparedness

Barabati Stadium has been prepared with upgraded lighting, enhanced visuals, and strengthened infrastructure to welcome spectators.

Security arrangements include:

  • 50 platoons of police force

  • Over 300 officers deployed across the venue

  • Six designated parking zones for streamlined traffic management

The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), in coordination with state authorities, aims to deliver an “error-free” match experience as the five-match T20I series between India and South Africa gets underway.
