The two-day State Executive Meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) concluded in Kataka under the presidency of State BJP Chief Manmohan Samal. Addressing the gathering on the final day, BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh emphasized that service (seva bhava) remains the core philosophy of the party and urged workers to dedicate themselves to the welfare of the common people.
Addressing state leaders and executive members, B.L. Santhosh highlighted that the primary goal of the BJP is to reach the last person in the socio-economic ladder, ensuring they receive necessary welfare services, benefits, and fundamental rights. He noted that wherever the BJP has been entrusted with governance, its dedication to public service has earned the lasting trust of the people.
“In Odisha, after forming the government, the Chief Minister and state leadership have prioritized this spirit of service by regularly hearing public grievances and standing by the people,” Santhosh stated. He called upon party cadres to work hard and strengthen public trust ahead of the upcoming Panchayat, Municipal, and Cooperative elections.
Focus on State Welfare Schemes
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi provided a comprehensive briefing on various welfare schemes launched by the state government and detailed their implementation strategies. He reiterated the state’s resolve to achieve a Samruddha Odisha (Prosperous Odisha) by 2036 and contribute toward a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Political Resolution Adopted
During the second day of the executive meeting, a comprehensive political resolution was moved and unanimously passed. Briefing the media, MP Dr. Sambit Patra stated that the resolution strongly condemned the actions and rhetoric of opposition parties, specifically the Congress and the Biju Janata Party (BJD).
The resolution noted that despite global financial challenges, India’s economic growth rate stands robust at 7.8%. However, opposition parties continue to spread misinformation to malign the nation’s image.
Key points raised in the political resolution include:
- Critique of Opposition Allegiances: Condemning opposition parties for aligning with divisive elements and opposing critical legislation such as the Women’s Reservation Bill and FCRA amendments.
- Alleged Disrespect to National Anthem/Song: Criticizing the top Congress leadership over their conduct during the singing of Vande Mataram at their headquarters during Independence Day events.
- Disappearance of Inquiry Files: Raising serious concerns over the missing files related to the Commission of Inquiry into the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati during the previous BJD regime.
- Opposition to Mining Reforms & Flood Politics: Expressing regret over the opposition by Congress and BJD to MMDR amendments and criticizing BJD leaders for making insensitive remarks regarding the recent floods affecting nine districts in Odisha.
The executive meeting saw the participation of prominent national and state leaders, including BJP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal, Deputy Chief Ministers K.V. Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, State In-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, Co-Incharge Miss Lata Usendi, and State General Secretary (Organisation) Manas Kumar Mohanty, along with state ministers, MPs, MLAs, and executive committee members. State Vice President Dr. Jatin Mohanty and Cell Coordinator Sudipta Ray were also present.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all attending leaders and workers to work tirelessly toward the development and prosperity of Odisha.
