Cape Town: As the Men in Blue gear up for the 3rd Test against South Africa in Cape Town from January 11, India’s Test team members arrived in Cape Town on Saturday.
The team landed departed from Johannesburg and arrived in Cape Town via a chartered plane as Covid-19 protocols are being followed by the two teams in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on social media, India players can be seen getting a grand welcome at the team hotel.
A group of musicians were seen playing traditional drums while more music followed the team as they entered the hotel on Saturday.
India will continue to spend time in the bio-bubble atmosphere as they train for the 3rd Test at the Newlands in Cape Town.
India will look to bounce back from the defeat in the 2nd Test in Johannesburg when the two teams meet for one last time in the series finale at the iconic venue in Cape Town.
India are likely to be bolstered by the return of captain Virat Kohli who missed the 2nd Test due to a back spasm. India were led by KL Rahul in the absence of Kohli. All eyes will also be on the fitness of Mohammed Siraj who picked up a hamstring niggle in the 2nd Test. Ishant Sharma or Umesh Yadav is likely to replace Siraj if the young pacer sits out with an injury.
