Cuttack’s historic Ravenshaw University witnessed a high-octane spectacle on Friday as the Red Bull Formula 1 campus tour arrived at the iconic institution, turning its Front Lawn into a hub of motorsport excitement.
Hundreds of enthusiastic students, engineering enthusiasts and local racing fans gathered at the university to get a close look at a championship-winning Red Bull Racing F1 car displayed on campus.
For many students, the event offered a rare opportunity to see up close a machine usually seen only on television during Grand Prix weekends.
Students get a close look at F1 engineering
The displayed F1 car quickly became the centre of attraction, with students examining its intricate aerodynamic components, specialised racing tyres and highly engineered bodywork.
Beyond the glamour of Formula 1, the exhibition offered students a glimpse into the engineering and technological expertise required to build a car designed for extreme speed and performance.
“Seeing an actual F1 car in person, especially on our college grounds, feels surreal,” a third-year science student attending the event said.
“You only ever see these engineering marvels on television screens during Grand Prix weekends. Standing just inches away from one makes you truly appreciate the scale of automotive engineering,” the student added.
Red Bull brings global racing culture to Odisha
The Ravenshaw event is part of Red Bull India’s ongoing campus tour aimed at bringing racing culture closer to young audiences while encouraging the next generation of engineers, innovators and creators.
The tour has already generated significant interest across the region, with previous stops at institutions including Centurion University, SOA University and Birla Global University.
The initiative combines motorsport entertainment with an opportunity for students to engage with the technology, design and engineering concepts that drive Formula 1.
Heritage meets high-speed technology
The arrival of the F1 car created a striking contrast at Ravenshaw University, one of Odisha’s most recognisable heritage educational institutions.

As the day progressed, students and visitors continued to gather around the exhibition, capturing photographs and taking in the rare sight of an F1 car on their university campus.
For Cuttack’s young motorsport enthusiasts, the event offered more than just a display of a racing car. It brought a slice of the global Formula 1 experience to their doorstep and highlighted the connection between motorsport, engineering and innovation.
