With online cab services like Ola, Uber, and Rapido remaining suspended for the second consecutive day, the Comprehensive Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has launched the Ama Bus Shuttle Service to ease commuter woes across the capital.
The service connects Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar Railway Station, and Baramunda (BSABT) Bus Stand, ensuring passengers can travel conveniently despite the ongoing strike.
The strike by multiple driver unions has led to a sharp surge in offline cab fares, with rates tripling overnight — Rs 100 rides now costing Rs 300. Many travellers arriving at the airport and railway station were left stranded, prompting CRUT to activate its shuttle network for uninterrupted connectivity.
Officials said the initiative aims to prevent inconvenience to passengers and maintain essential mobility across the city. Commissionerate Police have also deployed additional platoons at key transit points to manage crowds and ensure safety.
Commuters can contact 70089 00098 for service details and schedules.
