US President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to European nations over rising immigration, calling it a “horrible invasion” that is “killing Europe.” His remarks came shortly after disembarking from Air Force One in Scotland on Saturday.
“On immigration, you better get your act together. You’re not going to have Europe anymore,” Trump said, urging European leaders to act decisively.
He emphasized that some leaders were handling the issue well but not receiving the “proper credit.”
Trump also touted his administration’s crackdown on illegal migration, claiming that “last month, we had nobody entering our country. We took out a lot of bad people.”
Europe’s Migrant Challenge:
According to UN data from 2020, Europe hosts approximately 87 million international migrants. The influx has been a flashpoint for political and social debates across several EU nations.
Trump’s Immigration Policy:
Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has pledged to lead the largest deportation program in US history, deporting thousands of undocumented migrants. While his policies have garnered support among conservatives, they have also sparked protests across the US.
European Visit:
During his trip, Trump plans to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. He will also visit his golf properties in Turnberry and Aberdeen, Scotland, where he will inaugurate a second golf course named after his mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, who was born in Scotland.
