The Government of Odisha has appointed Advocate Biraja Shankar Mishra, son of Narayan Mishra from Kendujhar, as a Member of the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
According to a notification issued by the Law Department under Section 22(1) of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 (Act 10 of 1994), the appointment was made with the approval of the Governor of Odisha. Mishra will assume charge of his office shortly.
The notification, signed by the Principal Secretary to Government, marks a key addition to the state’s human rights body, which plays a vital role in safeguarding citizens’ rights and addressing grievances related to human rights violations.
