The Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has arrested a doctor from Jehanabad district in connection with the alleged leak of the Bihar Public Service Commission’s Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE‑3) paper, officials said Tuesday.
The arrest came during interrogation on Monday, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 296. According to the EOU, investigations revealed that the doctor was associated with the son of Sanjeev Kumar Singh alias Sanjeev Mukhiya, the alleged mastermind of the NEET‑UG 2024 paper leak case, which is currently being probed by the CBI.
Singh, who is wanted in multiple cases, has been under investigation for orchestrating large‑scale exam leaks across states. The EOU said the latest arrest strengthens the link between the TRE‑3 leak network and the NEET‑UG scandal, exposing a wider nexus of individuals involved in manipulating recruitment and entrance examinations.
Officials confirmed that further interrogations are underway to trace the flow of leaked question papers and identify additional suspects.
The TRE‑3 paper leak case has become one of Bihar’s largest exam‑related investigations, with nearly 300 arrests so far, including teachers, middlemen, and technical facilitators.
