A newly constructed house in Saras village under Kendujhar Town police limits witnessed tragedy when a wall collapsed, killing one worker and leaving another critically injured.
The incident occurred on July 4 during construction work.
Police identified the deceased as Babur Sheikh and the injured as Mitu Sheikh, both residents of Janghipur village in West Bengal. The contractor, SK Samim, was overseeing the construction when the accident happened.
The injured worker was rushed to the Kendujhar District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the collapse took place while the workers were engaged in roofing activities.
Kendujhar Town police reached the site immediately and began an investigation. Officials are examining whether negligence in construction or structural flaws caused the collapse.
