The Kendrapara Sadar Police Station has registered a case of gang rape involving a minor victim, following a written complaint filed by the victim’s mother.

The police have initiated a formal investigation into the incident, which occurred in the early hours of 16 June 2026.

The victim’s family sustains their livelihood through sweeper work near Jajang Kali Temple in the Kendrapara Sadar Police Station jurisdiction. The police have identified the following two individuals as the primary accused in this case. Both are residents of Tarando Village under Nikirai Police Station, Kendrapara District, Shubham Kumar Nayak (alias Lakhanta / Pintu / Akash), Age: 31 years and Vinod Bihari Mallik, Age: 35 years.

Following the registration of the case, Additional IIC , Basudev Parida has been assigned to lead the investigation under the instructions of the In-Charge of Kendrapara Sadar Police Station. Efforts to apprehend the accused are actively underway, and all aspects of the incident are being thoroughly examined.
The SP Kendrapara, has personally directed that the matter be treated with utmost seriousness and that all requisite legal steps be taken promptly.
