The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across Odisha, placing 19 districts under yellow warning and 11 districts under orange warning.
The alerts came as Kalbaisakhi storms continued to lash several parts of the state.
Officials cautioned that districts including Boudh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Rayagada may experience thunderstorms with lightning and hail. The IMD also issued a special advisory for the next three hours in these five districts, urging residents to remain indoors and avoid vulnerable areas.
The weather department reported wind speeds ranging between 40 and 60 kilometres per hour during the storm activity. Authorities advised people to stay in safe locations until conditions improve.
