The Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) announced a major expansion of affordable housing projects across the state, with plans to extend activities to all district headquarters.
The move follows a comprehensive review chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Smt. Usha Padhee.
Managing Director Sri Gangadhar Nayak reported that OSHB has already developed 32,343 housing units, shops, and plots across 21 districts, including more than 20,000 units in Khordha. The review highlighted five ongoing projects worth ₹517 crore, covering 1,484 housing units.
Key projects include Kharavela Enclave in Bhubaneswar, nearing completion with 104 HIG apartments; Anugul Enclave with 613 units, 228 already built; Subhadra Enclave at Dumduma with 198 units; Vasudev Vihar at Andharua offering 206 plots; and Gadakana Housing Project with 363 units and commercial spaces, set for launch in July 2026.
OSHB reported strong financial performance, emerging debt-free with a surplus of ₹18.40 crore in FY 2024-25 and ₹25.50 crore in FY 2025-26. The fund position stood at ₹37.42 crore as of March 31, 2026.
Looking ahead, four major projects for FY 2026-27 will add nearly 6,877 units. These include the Suango PPP Project near AIIMS Bhubaneswar with 2,867 units, Ranasinghpur EPC Project with 1,262 units, Patrapada Housing Project with 2,510 units, and Basanti Colony Joint Venture in Rourkela with 238 apartments.
