The Special Crime Unit in Bhubaneswar seized two semi-automatic guns along with 10 rounds of ammunition during a crackdown on criminal activities.

Officers arrested Amarresh Rout of Sundarpada Talasahi and recovered two magazines and a motorcycle from his possession.

Police confirmed that the operation was part of intensified efforts to control crime in the capital. The Special Crime Unit has also launched a helpline number, 0674-2916383, urging citizens to report information about anti-social activities. Officials assured that the identity of informants will remain confidential.

The seizure highlights growing concerns over illegal firearms in the city. Authorities stressed that community cooperation is vital to curb such activities. The helpline aims to strengthen public participation in crime prevention and ensure faster response to threats.
