On the final day of the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025, Indian athletes delivered a remarkable performance, securing 12 medals across four events and taking India’s total medal tally to 33.

Snowshoeing & Alpine Skiing: Medal Haul Continues
In Snowshoeing, India added four more medals to the six won earlier. Vasu Tiwari, Shalini Chauhan, and Tanya each clinched a silver in the 25m Snowshoeing event, while Jahangir secured a bronze in the same category.

The Alpine Skiing segment saw Radha Devi and Nirmala Devi winning silver medals in the Intermediate Slalom (F01 & F04 categories, respectively). Abhishek Kumar also brought home a silver in the Novice Slalom (M02 category), further solidifying India’s success.

More Triumphs in Cross Country Skiing & Floorball
In Cross Country Skiing, Akriti displayed remarkable endurance, earning a bronze in the 100m Classical Technique (F02 category). Meanwhile, India’s Women’s Traditional Team in Floorball delivered a stellar performance, clinching a bronze medal to wrap up their journey at the tournament.

A Historic Achievement for India
Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of Special Olympics Bharat, praised the athletes, stating, “Our athletes have once again proved that with dedication and perseverance, there are no limits to what they can achieve. Each medal is a testament to their hard work and the support from coaches, families, and the entire Special Olympics Bharat family.”

India concluded the Games with a total of 33 medals, including 8 gold, 18 silver, and 7 bronze. The country’s top performances came in Snowshoeing and Alpine Skiing (10 medals each), followed by Snowboarding (6 medals), Short Track Speed Skating (4), Cross Country Skiing (2), and Floorball (1).

With this exceptional showing, Indian athletes have once again proven their determination, resilience, and sporting excellence on the global stage.
