A child’s death at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar triggered chaos on Tuesday as relatives accused doctors and nurses of negligence.
The family, who had come from Chandpur in Khordha, alleged that a wrong injection caused the death.
The child was brought to the hospital after sustaining injuries in a cycling accident. Relatives claimed that instead of urgent treatment, medical staff administered an incorrect injection, leading to the tragedy.
Soon after the death, tension erupted in the post-mortem ward. Grief-stricken relatives staged a protest, demanding strict action against the hospital staff. The atmosphere turned emotional as cries and wailing filled the premises.
Police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the agitated family members. Authorities assured them that the matter would be investigated. However, hospital officials have not issued any statement regarding the allegations.
