BJP offers Deputy CM post to Vijay

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reportedly offered Tamil actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) 80 seats in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, along with the Deputy Chief Minister post for Vijay if the alliance secures victory, according to a report by India Today.

Sources suggest that BJP strategists view Vijay’s immense popularity as a potential game-changer in a state where the party has struggled to establish a strong foothold. With a loyal fan base and a fresh political brand, TVK could help the BJP expand its influence in Tamil Nadu’s complex electoral landscape.

However, insiders reveal that Vijay remains firm on his ambition to become Chief Minister, a sticking point in the ongoing negotiations. While BJP is keen to bring TVK under the NDA umbrella, Vijay’s advisers are cautious. They fear that aligning too early with a national party could dilute TVK’s independent image and weaken its appeal as a credible alternative to the Dravidian majors.

Political observers note that even a modest transfer of Vijay’s fan support could tilt results in closely contested constituencies. The BJP’s offer reflects its broader strategy of forging alliances with influential regional leaders to strengthen its position in southern states.

As talks continue, the outcome of this potential alliance could reshape Tamil Nadu’s political dynamics, setting the stage for one of the most closely watched elections in recent years.
