Odisha will soon see stronger railway connectivity as the Centre approved a new Amrit Bharat train linking Assam’s Kamakhya and Telangana’s Charalapalli (Secunderabad) via major stations in Odisha.
The train will pass through Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Balugaon, and Berhampur.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had earlier requested Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to expand services for Odisha passengers. In response, Vaishnaw informed the Chief Minister through a letter about the approval of the new train and the regularisation of two existing services.
The Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad Special (18403/18404) will now operate as a regular train, connecting Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda, and Rourkela before reaching Dhanbad. Similarly, the Puri-Patna Special (08439/08440) has been regularised, running through Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, and Balasore before reaching Patna.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for strengthening Odisha’s railway network.
