Odisha Vigilance arrested Prasanna Samantaray, Tahasildar of Kantapara in Cuttack district, for possession of disproportionate assets.

He will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, today.

Officials conducted searches on multiple properties linked to Samantaray. Investigators found two multi-storeyed buildings, seven high-value plots in Bhubaneswar, and cash amounting to Rs 2.17 lakh. Authorities stated that Samantaray failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these assets.

Following the discovery, Cuttack Vigilance registered PS Case No. 12/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. The arrest marks a significant step in Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing crackdown on corruption among government officials.
