Prominent OAS Officers Elevated to IAS Rank in Odisha

In a significant development, President Droupadi Murmu has promoted several Odisha Administrative Officers (OAS) to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS).


This promotion, issued as per the Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, aligns with available vacancies for the select lists of 2023 and 2024. These officers have been allocated to the Odisha Cadre on probation.

According to the notification issued by Sanjay Kumar Chaurasia, Under Secretary to the Government of India, the officers were chosen under Regulation 9(1) of the IAS (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955. Among the promoted officers, several have been recognized for their outstanding contributions and commitment to public administration.

The promoted officers for the Select List 2023 include Dharam Hansdah, Rina Mohapatra, Niyati Pattnaik, among others. For the Select List 2024, officers like Narahari Sethy, Jugaleswari Dash, Madhumita Rath, and others have been granted the IAS rank. This milestone marks a significant step forward in their careers, entrusting them with greater responsibilities in governance and administration.
