Odisha Vigilance arrested Assistant Executive Engineer Pramod Kumar Ray of Derabish Irrigation Sub-Division under Kendrapara Irrigation Division for possession of disproportionate assets.
Officials confirmed that Ray was taken into custody and will be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. The arrest followed extensive searches of his properties. Vigilance registered Cuttack PS Case No.10/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
Investigators found two multi-storeyed buildings—one in Bhubaneswar measuring approximately 8,000 sq ft and another in Choudwar of about 5,200 sq ft. They also seized two plots, cash worth Rs 4.48 lakh, and deposits amounting to Rs 39.21 lakh. Officials stated that Ray failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these assets.
The Vigilance department emphasised that the arrest reflects its ongoing drive against corruption and disproportionate asset accumulation among government officials. Authorities reiterated their commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
