A prisoner died in Sonepur Sub‑Jail on Friday morning, creating concern among officials and inmates.
The deceased was identified as Mohan Suna, 38, of Beheramal village under Puintala police station in Bolangir district.
Reports confirmed that Mohan returned after routine work and lay down to rest. Soon after, he became unconscious. Jail authorities immediately shifted him to the government hospital in Sonepur, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
Preliminary information suggests that Mohan may have died due to a cardiac ailment. Officials stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post‑mortem report.
