Bhubaneswar: Even a large number of people now have immunity against COVI-19 due to previous infections or vaccination, the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Odisha CBK Mohanty on Friday warned implementing restrictive measures to avoid a second wave-like crisis.
DMET chief also alerted that children might be more affected in the likelihood of a third wave of the pandemic.
Speaking to media persons, Mohanty said, “As most of the adult population have either been vaccinated or infected by Covid-19 they have developed antibodies against the virus. So, the possible third wave of the pandemic may affect children more.”
“So far we have no indication about the outbreak of third wave of the pandemic in the State. The second wave is still continuing with a dip in the number of infection. However, we have to be careful for the future by adhering to all Covid protocols,” he added.
