Renowned filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli is currently filming his highly anticipated big-budget movie, ‘SSMB29’ in the breathtaking Talamali Hills, located in the Semiliguda block of Koraput district, Odisha.
The film stars South Indian icons Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, alongside global sensation Priyanka Chopra.
With the district administration granting permission to film in Talamali and Deomali until March 28, Rajamouli’s team has been capturing the region’s stunning landscapes. Mahesh Babu was seen departing from Hyderabad Airport on March 5 to join the second shooting schedule of this action-packed jungle adventure.
The movie, being produced under the Durga Art banner, boasts a massive budget of approximately ₹1,000 crore. Key shooting locations include the scenic Deomali, Talamali, and Machkund, with the first schedule focusing mainly on Talamali. To accommodate the film’s 500-member crew, the production team has reserved all available lodges in Semiliguda.
Koraput has become a favored location for South Indian filmmakers, with recent films like Pushpa 2 and Sankranthiki Vasthunam also utilizing its picturesque settings. This trend highlights the growing popularity of Odisha’s natural beauty as a backdrop for major film productions.
