In anticipation of the grand Bahuda Yatra—also known as the return journey of Lord Jagannath’s annual Rath Yatra—the Odisha Police has rolled out a special traffic advisory to ensure seamless movement of vehicles and the safety of devotees.

As per the latest update from the official handle @odisha_police, LMVs will be rerouted as follows:

  • LMVs without passes will be diverted from Malatipatpur via the ROB (Railway Over Bridge) towards the Talabania parking area.
  • LMVs with valid passes will be directed towards JBPC and Yatrika from Batagaon.

These diversions are part of a broader mobility plan designed to alleviate congestion near the Grand Road and ensure a hassle-free experience for devotees and locals alike. The traffic changes will remain in effect throughout the Bahuda Yatra period, with real-time updates provided by Odisha Police through its digital platforms.

Pilgrims and visitors have been advised to adhere to traffic directions and cooperate with on-ground personnel to facilitate the sacred procession’s smooth return to the Srimandir. The initiative underscores the authorities’ commitment to the safe and organised conduct of one of Odisha’s most revered festivals.

For continuous updates, travellers are encouraged to follow the official handles of Odisha Police and Puri District Administration.
