The heroic saga of Kudopali, an unforgettable chapter of India’s freedom struggle, was unveiled at the grand inaugural ceremony of the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026.
Based on the untold and overlooked story of the 1857 uprising, a special video presentation showcased the courage and sacrifice of Kudopali’s warriors. Alongside, the book titled “The Saga of Kudopali: The Unsung Story of 1857” was released in 10 new languages—Spanish, Bengali, Punjabi, Assamese, Malayalam, Urdu, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu.
Previously published in Odia, English, and Hindi, the book is now available in a total of 13 languages, making it accessible to a wider national and international audience.
This pioneering initiative aims to bring Kudopali’s forgotten history and the sacrifices of its brave fighters to the forefront of India’s collective memory and global recognition.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who unveiled the book, said the release would provide a new identity to India’s struggle history in the world arena.
