Allegations of gross negligence have surfaced against Bankili Government High School after the tragic death of a 13-year-old Class VIII student, Jishaya Puala.
The boy, son of Situ Puala from Rupuni village under Kolnara block, died while undergoing treatment at the Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital.
Reports suggest Jishaya fell seriously ill with high fever during school hours. Shockingly, the school authorities failed to inform his family, despite his deteriorating condition. It was only after some classmates alerted his father that Situ Puala rushed to the school on Friday and brought his son home.
The boy’s health worsened further, and he was admitted to the district hospital around 4 a.m. today. Despite medical efforts, Jishaya passed away while under treatment.
The grieving family has accused the school administration of irresponsibility and indifference, claiming that timely communication could have ensured proper medical care and possibly saved the child’s life. Locals have echoed the demand for accountability, calling the incident a tragic consequence of administrative apathy.
