A shocking incident occurred late Saturday night when Revenue Inspector (RI) Asutosh Sahu of Matiapada was attacked by unidentified miscreants near Athabatia in Pipili.
According to reports, the assault took place around 11 p.m. while Sahu was returning home. The attackers allegedly struck him on the head, leaving him seriously injured. Police rescued the injured officer and admitted him to a local medical facility for treatment.
Though the exact motive remains unclear, preliminary investigation suggests the attack may be linked to a land dispute. The Pipili Police have registered a case and launched a probe to identify and apprehend the culprits.
