The Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar has achieved a historic milestone, emerging as the highest-grossing Hindi film in India. According to the makers, the spy thriller has now earned a domestic net collection of Rs 831 crore.
On Wednesday, Jio Studios, the production house behind the film, released an official poster celebrating the achievement. The poster featured Ranveer Singh in a striking pose with the message, “Thank you India. Ganpati Bappa Morya (Hail Lord Ganpati),” highlighting the film’s net domestic collection of Rs 831 crore after 33 days of release.
Prior to this, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rise held the record for the highest Hindi-dubbed box office collection, earning Rs 821 crore. Industry trade sources, however, noted that as of Tuesday, Dhurandhar’s collection stood at Rs 782 crore and still required an additional Rs 40 crore to surpass Pushpa 2.
With this achievement, Dhurandhar also sets a new benchmark for the highest collection by any Indian film in a single language. Other notable Hindi box office earners include Chhaava (Rs 601 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 586 crore), Stree 2, Gadar 2, Pathan, Animal, and Baahubali 2, all crossing the Rs 500 crore mark.
