Bhubaneswar police arrested an SSB jawan in connection with a land fraud case involving Rs 40 lakh.
The accused, identified as Sachitra Senapati, was taken into custody by Sahidnagar police following allegations of cheating a retired police officer.
According to reports, Senapati promised to provide land to the retired officer, but instead duped him of Rs 40 lakh. Police registered a case after receiving the complaint and launched an investigation.
Officials confirmed that Senapati had earlier served on duty at Naveen Niwas. His arrest has drawn attention due to his background in the security services.
Investigators stated that evidence is being collected to establish the full extent of the fraud. Authorities assured that strict legal action will follow once the inquiry is complete.
