In a significant administrative shake-up, the Government of Odisha’s General Administration & Public Grievance Department has issued a fresh set of transfer and posting orders for seven senior IAS officers.

The notification, dated 25 August 2026, brings new faces to key positions spanning education, home affairs, environment, health, and public communication.

Birendra Korkora, IAS (SCS-2014), who was serving as Director, Secondary Education, has been appointed Additional Secretary to the Government in the Home Department. Taking his place is Jugaleswari Dash, IAS (SCS-2015), previously Director, OBC, who now assumes charge as Director, Secondary Education.

In a clear swap, Aradhana Das, IAS (SCS-2014), moves from Additional Secretary, Home Department, to Additional Secretary in the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department.

The health and traditional medicine sector also sees a change of guard. Archana Das Pattanaik, IAS (SCS-2015), currently Additional Secretary in the Excise Department, has been appointed Director, AYUSH. She will be succeeded in Excise by Anjana Panda, IAS (SCS-2015), the outgoing Director of AYUSH.

Sanjay Kumar Biswal, IAS (NSCS-2015), Additional Secretary in the Commerce & Transport Department, has been named the new Director of Information and Public Relations, Bhubaneswar — a crucial role that shapes the state’s official communication strategy.

Finally, Sundara Madhaba Padhi, IAS (NSCS-2020), Deputy Secretary in the Works Department, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Odisha Maritime Board. He will also hold additional charge as General Manager of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation.
