A minor dispute escalated into a fatal incident in Bhata Guda village under Bisamkatak block of Rayagada district, leaving one person dead and another seriously injured.
According to reports, workers from Lanjigarh were engaged in constructing a water tank under a mega drinking water project in the village. Villagers rushed to the scene after hearing the commotion. They rescued Lalit and sent him to the local medical center for treatment. Meanwhile, they detained the accused Kunal and informed Bisamcuttack police.
Police arrived promptly, seized the body, and took Kunal into custody. On Wednesday morning, a scientific team reached the site to begin investigation. After family members arrived, police conducted a post-mortem and handed over the body.
