Bhubaneswar: Amid the recent unrest in Bangladesh, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has directed district Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to identify Bangladeshi infiltrators residing in the state. Addressing the Assembly, the CM emphasized the need for vigilance, particularly in areas like Kendrapara, Bhubaneswar, and Puri.
Majhi informed the Assembly that committees at the block, tehsil, and police station levels will be responsible for the identification process. This directive follows previous efforts by the state government, which had identified 3,740 Bangladeshi infiltrators in various districts.
The CM’s announcement underscores the state’s commitment to addressing the issue of illegal immigration and ensuring the security and stability of Odisha.
