Odisha is bracing for further weather challenges as the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate rainfall across several districts, heightening the risk of flooding in regions already waterlogged.
The warning comes amid ongoing flood-like conditions in parts of the state.
Yellow Alert for 15 Districts
A yellow warning has been issued for 15 districts, with predictions of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching 30–40 km/h. Officials fear the fresh spell of rain could worsen the situation in flood-prone and low-lying areas.
Coastal and Fishing Advisory
Sea conditions remain rough, prompting authorities to advise fishermen against venturing into deep waters. Coastal areas are also under watch due to potential risks from high waves and strong winds.
Rain Likely in South Odisha
While northern and western districts are expected to see the most rainfall, southern Odisha may also experience scattered showers. With monsoon currents active, the rising water levels of major rivers are being closely monitored to prevent large-scale flooding.
