Nuapada: A presiding officer was killed after being hit by a car on NH 353 near Tarbod in Nuapada district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Prasanna Kumar Naik, worked in a bank in Sinapali.
As per reports, the accident occurred when the officer was returning home by his bike after conducting his duty in booth no 184 at Ranimunda under Khariar block. A car dashed into his bike on the road. He fell down and sustained critical injuries. Locals rescued him and admitted to the Nuapada Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The CEO, Nikunja Bihari Dhal declared Rs 15 lakh ex-gratia for the family members of the deceased.
