The Odisha Adivasi Mahasangh today met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss a range of issues related to tribal welfare and community advancement.

The delegation, comprising office bearers and members from 11 districts, presented various proposals aimed at the holistic development of the tribal population.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, emphasizing that the upliftment of tribal communities remains a top priority. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on empowering the poorest sections of society, CM Majhi highlighted that tribal groups form a critical part of this mission. He cited multiple welfare schemes being effectively implemented for tribal empowerment.

Key measures discussed during the meeting included livelihood enhancement, educational support, and eliminating harmful social practices through community awareness. The CM announced the formation of two new regional development councils—North Odisha Development Council and South Odisha Development Council—to accelerate infrastructure and socio-economic progress in tribal belts.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Scheduled Tribes and Castes Development Shri Nityananda Gond, Nabarangpur MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi, Mahasangh President Karma Lakra, and General Secretary Sarat Chandra Nayak.

The CM encouraged collaborative efforts to solve tribal issues through dialogue and urged the Mahasangh to assist in spreading awareness and eradicating regressive customs.
