The anti-corruption crackdown on Nityananda Nayak, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Kendu Leaf Division, Keonjhar, intensified today with fresh seizures during ongoing disproportionate assets (DA) searches.
Fresh Seizure of Cash:
Vigilance officials recovered approximately Rs 8.5 lakh in cash today from Nayak’s official quarters located in Forest Colony, Keonjhar. This brings the total cash seizure to over Rs 10 lakh, including Rs 1.55 lakh recovered on Sunday.
Financial and Property Documents Under Scanner:
Investigators have also unearthed a substantial number of land records, insurance deposit documents, and multiple bank passbooks during today’s searches. Verification and evaluation of the documents are currently underway.
Bank Accounts:
Nine Bank Accounts of Nityananda Nayak and family members with deposits over Rs 50 lakh have been unearthed so far.
The DA investigation into Nayak’s assets was initiated following allegations of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Further updates are expected as the inquiry progresses.
