Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his 125th birth anniversary at a state-level event organized at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
The ceremony was jointly hosted by the Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture and the Information and Public Relations Department. Calling the day one of “resolve, inspiration, and awakening,” the CM hailed Dr. Mookerjee as a visionary leader, educationist, and patriot who played a key role in promoting Indian culture, tradition, and nationalism.
Highlighting Dr. Mookerjee’s contribution as the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Majhi emphasized that his ideology continues to guide the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today. Recalling his iconic slogan—“Do Vidhan, Do Pradhan, Do Nishan – Nahi Chalega”—Majhi reiterated the importance of national unity, particularly regarding Kashmir. The CM also criticized former state governments for neglecting Dr. Mookerjee’s legacy and affirmed his administration’s commitment to honoring national icons. He urged youth to shape the country’s future through dedication, integrity, and service, stating that development without ethics or patriotism is hollow.
