No Impunity to Terrorists, No Yielding to Nuclear Blackmail: Jaishankar at UN

India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar made a forceful statement at the United Nations, calling for global unity against terrorism.

Speaking at the inauguration of a digital exhibition titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism” at the UN Headquarters, he emphasized the urgent need for zero tolerance, accountability, and no leniency toward state-sponsored terror.

Jaishankar’s remarks came ahead of Pakistan’s presidency of the UN Security Council, and just weeks after India’s Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory move following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed 26 civilian lives.

“No impunity to terrorists. No treating them as proxies. No yielding to nuclear blackmail,” Jaishankar asserted, underscoring that terrorism anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere.

Key Highlights:

  • The UN exhibition, open from June 30 to July 11, showcases global terror attacks including the 1993 and 2008 Mumbai bombings and the recent Pahalgam massacre, with clear attribution to Pakistan-based terror groups.

  • Jaishankar thanked the UN Security Council for its strong condemnation of the Pahalgam attack and said that India’s response had delivered a message of no compromise on national security.

  • He condemned state-backed terrorism, extremism, and the use of terrorism as foreign policy tools, stating that the pain of victims and families must remain at the center of global counter-terror efforts.

“This exhibition gives voice to the voiceless — lives interrupted by terror. It is a tribute to victims and a call to action for the world,” he said.

Jaishankar’s address was attended by several UN ambassadors and diplomats. His comments drew a clear line against diplomatic softness towards nations using terror as a tool and reaffirmed India’s tough stance in the evolving global security framework.
