Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed a massive State-Level Youth Samavesh in Aska, Ganjam today, unveiling a vision to transform Odisha into a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047.

He emphasised the vital role of the youth in realising this ambitious goal, stating, “Odisha’s future lies in the strength, skill, and determination of its young generation.”

At the event, CM Majhi laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore, including five irrigation initiatives, a high-level bridge, and a major road expansion plan. He also directed the preparation of a revised DPR for the enhancement of Maa Taratarini Temple and announced plans to establish a world-class skill training institute in Polasara.

Highlighting the state’s industrial roadmap, Majhi noted that under the ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ programme, investment proposals worth Rs 17 lakh crore are being actioned, aimed at creating over 13 lakh employment opportunities. Remarkably, within 150 days, projects worth Rs 1.8 lakh crore have been rolled out, securing over 1.1 lakh jobs.

Majhi stressed that youth between the ages of 15 and 35—currently 1.7 crore strong—are Odisha’s greatest asset. “We are investing in their potential through education reforms, skill development, industry-linked college courses, and robust reservation policies for marginalised youth,” he said.

Encouraging young people to dream big, he urged, “Discover your inner talent, nurture it with confidence, and always believe—I MUST BE THE BEST. When you shine, Odisha shines.”

Also present were Union Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Youth and Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and several MPs and MLAs who echoed the CM’s vision of youth-powered development.
