Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education Department has made arrangement for the Matric dropout students to appear for the supplementary examination.
Informing this in Odisha Assembly, Minister Sameer Ranjan Das said, 5 lakh 71 thousand 909 students had filled the form for examination in 2021-22. Out of them, 45,091 students did not appear the test. Over 5.32 lakh students had filled up the form for examination this year. Out of them, 13, 058 children did not attend the exam pass the exam, Dash said.
After the Covid pandemic, more than 45,000 students could not attend the examination last year. We had conducted a door to door survey and discussed with the students and guardians.
This year, the dropout rate has dropped to 13,000.The department will review the matter. “We will discuss with parents and students. We will persuade them to appear the supplementary examination,” Dash added.
The minister said, there are more than 50 government ITI schools in the state. Besides, there are more than 150 private ITI schools. After passing out matric exam, many students also opt for ITI, technical education.
