Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) has successfully dismantled a gang responsible for a series of vehicle thefts across multiple districts.
Law enforcement officials recovered ten stolen four-wheelers and arrested two suspects linked to the crimes.
The two arrested persons have been identified as Arman Saha (25) and Iftikar Alam (23).
This gang had been operating across Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Cuttack, and Puri, primarily targeting vehicles parked on roadsides during nighttime using duplicate keys. The stolen vehicles were reportedly hidden in forests near Pipili, where suspects removed their license plates before engaging in further illegal activities or selling some as scrap.
The two apprehended suspects are currently in police custody, while authorities continue their pursuit of the remaining gang members. The seizure of vehicles includes models such as Scorpio, Bolero Pickups, Tata Ace, and a disintegrated scrap of an unknown four-wheeler.
Law enforcement has urged vehicle owners to remain vigilant and adopt preventive measures to safeguard their assets. Further investigations are underway to dismantle the broader network involved in these criminal activities.
