Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital in Bhubaneswar has taken a significant step in healthcare advancement with the inauguration of Super Specialty OPD treatment.

The new facility, launched by Shri Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, Minister of Labour and Employees’ State Insurance, aims to provide specialised medical care to insured employees and their families.

The OPD service, implemented in collaboration with Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneswar, offers high-end treatment in Urology, Cardiology, Oncology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Neurology, and Endocrinology. With chronic diseases like kidney and heart conditions on the rise, the new facility promises comprehensive medical assistance for beneficiaries at no cost.

The Employees’ State Insurance Scheme has been operational in Odisha since 1960, serving nearly 10 lakh insured individuals across four hospitals and 53 dispensaries. Plans are underway to expand healthcare services with five additional hospitals to ensure seamless medical support for employees.

The government’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare access is evident through initiatives like agreements with Secondary and Tertiary Care centres and the recent establishment of a dialysis unit at the ESI Hospital. This new OPD service further strengthens Odisha’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring insured employees receive top-tier medical treatment without financial burden.
