The Vivo V50 has been launched in India for under Rs 40,000, succeeding the Vivo V40.

The new version shares a lot of specifications with the older model, but also comes with a few important upgrades. The new Vivo phone will be seen competing with popular phones such as the OnePlus 12R, iQOO Neo 9 Pro and more.

Vivo V50 launched: Price, sale details

The Vivo V50 comes with a starting price of Rs 34,999 for the 128GB storage model, while the 256GB model will cost Rs 36,999. Pre-orders for the device are already underway, with the first sale scheduled for February 25. The device will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Vivo exclusive stores, and other retail outlets. Launch offers include a flat Rs 2,000 instant discount on HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and SBI Bank credit card transactions. Additionally, there is an option for up to 6 months of no-cost EMIs.

Vivo V50: Specs, features

The Vivo V50 has borrowed some features from its predecessor, the Vivo V40. The latest model is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, which was also used by the V40 smartphone. It retains the dual rear camera unit, comprising two 50-megapixel sensors. While the camera system is the same as the older model, the company claims that the new version has different 50-megapixel sensors compared to its predecessor. For selfies, it comes with a 50-megapixel camera. The Vivo V50 features the same 6.78-inch quad-curved FHD+ display. The panel refreshes at 120Hz. So, these features are the same as the older model.

In addition to this, you get the same design blueprint as on the V40 series, but the new model now comes in fresh colours. It comes in Titanium Grey, Rose Red and Starry Night colour options. The device has a glass back panel and a slimmer body compared to the V40. It has a thickness of over 7.39mm and weighs about 199g.

The new version packs a larger battery with support for better charging speed. There is a 6,000mAh battery under the hood, compared to the 5,500mAh unit seen on the previous model. The Vivo V50 has support for 90W charging, up from 80W power. Lastly, it has support for both IP68 and IP69 ratings for better protection against submersion in water (up to a certain point of course). This is a bit surprising because we see these IP ratings on ultra-premium smartphones. It even comes with AI features like Circle to Search, AI Transcript, AI Live Call Translation and more. The company is also claiming that users will get a better camera experience with the Vivo V50.
