Bhubaneswar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday that conditions are favouring for withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from northwest and central parts of India in the next two- three days.
According to the weather agency, the southwest monsoon is likely to further withdraw from remaining parts of Gujarat, some parts of Maharashtra and some parts of east India during subsequent two days.
The South Peninsular India is likely to witness isolated heavy rainfall during the next five days, the met office predicted.
“A cyclonic circulation lies over Comorin area and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. Another cyclonic circulation lies over central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels,” a release issued by IMD read.
Forecast and warnings:
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe are likely to experience light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorm/lightning during October 13-17.
Light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is likely over South Interior Karnataka during October 13-15 and October 17, Coastal Andhra Pradesh on October 13 and 14 and Coastal Karnataka on October 17, 2022.
Light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls is very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during October 15-17. Widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya on October 13, 2022.
The weather is likely to remain dry over most parts of Northwest India from October 13 onwards.
