In a strong statement on Sunday, Congress leader Sachin Pilot asserted that no third party should intervene in the Kashmir conflict, emphasising that it remains a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan.
His remarks come in response to a ceasefire brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, which has raised concerns about the conditions India may have agreed to.
Pilot demanded transparency from the government, calling for an all-party meeting and a special Parliament session to explain the circumstances under which the ceasefire was accepted. He also referenced a 1994 parliamentary resolution that advocated reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and suggested its implementation.
Expressing sympathy for victims of cross-border shelling, Pilot praised the Indian armed forces for their courage and valiant efforts in defending the nation. His statements have sparked debates over India’s diplomatic stance and its long-term approach to Kashmir.
