The facility, built at a cost of ₹300 crore, is expected to manufacture 80 to 100 BrahMos missiles annually to enhance India’s military capabilities.

The newly launched Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility will oversee the assembly and testing of missiles, ensuring high-quality production. A next-generation BrahMos missile, featuring an extended strike range exceeding 300 km and a reduced weight of 1,290 kg, will also be manufactured at this facility.

Additionally, the inauguration included the launch of the Titanium and Super Alloys Materials Plant, which will support advanced aerospace and defence manufacturing. The event also marked the foundation stone for the Defence Testing Infrastructure System (DTIS), a cutting-edge facility designed for certifying and testing defence products.

The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, launched in 2018, aims to attract major investments in the defence sector, making Uttar Pradesh the second state after Tamil Nadu to establish such a corridor. Defence experts believe that this development will significantly strengthen India’s strategic deterrence capabilities.

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, developed by BrahMos Aerospace, a joint venture between India and Russia, is known for its Mach 2.8 speed and precision strike ability. With this production facility now operational, India aims to increase its defence readiness and bolster national security.

Key Highlights:

  • The facility will also produce next-generation BrahMos missiles with improved range and reduced weight.
  • The Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility will oversee the assembly and testing of the missiles.
  • The Titanium and Super Alloys Materials Plant was also launched to support aerospace and defence manufacturing.
  • The event saw the laying of the foundation stone for the Defence Testing Infrastructure System (DTIS), a facility for testing and certifying defence products.
  • The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor is expected to attract major investments, making Uttar Pradesh the second state after Tamil Nadu to establish such an initiative.
