A tragic accident unfolded on Saturday morning near K Balang Police Station in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, where Suresh Kumar, a truck driver from Uttar Pradesh, lost his life after falling off a bridge while filming a social media reel.
According to reports, Kumar, who was driving an 18-wheeler truck, had parked near the 520 National Highway bridge intending to record a short video. In an attempt to capture the perfect shot, he climbed onto the bridge railing but lost his footing and fell to his death.
Local residents discovered the critically injured driver under the bridge and alerted police officials. Despite efforts to rescue him, Kumar succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His body has been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.
Authorities have reiterated the dangers of reckless behaviour while creating content for social media platforms. Police warn that such negligence not only risks lives but also poses traffic hazards and legal consequences.
