Puri: As many as 60 passengers were trapped in the middle of the Chilika lake after a floating bridge vessel (Bhasa Pola) ferrying them got stranded midway on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, the incident took place at around 2.15 pm when the floating bridge, managed by the Chilika Development Authority (CDA) to ferry people across the lake, left Satapada.
On being informed, officials rushed to the spot and started the repair work of the vessel. Besides, efforts are on to bring the passengers safely to shore.
